1) S.T.E.M. Diagnostics™ (v1) — Calculus + Physics

Our free S.T.E.M. Diagnostic is a short, print-ready PDF designed to pinpoint exactly what’s holding a student back—and what to fix first. It’s not a “gotcha” exam. It’s a focused skills check that reveals gaps in fundamentals, breakdowns in problem setup, and the specific misconceptions that cause lost marks under time pressure.

What it tests

Calculus

  • Functions & algebra readiness (the hidden grade-killer)

  • Limits & continuity (including common indeterminate forms)

  • Core differentiation skills + interpretation (slope, tangent, meaning of f′(x)f'(x)f′(x))

  • Applications (optimization/related rates setup)

  • Integrals (anti-derivatives + definite integral meaning)

Physics

  • Units, vectors, and component reasoning

  • Kinematics (graphs and x(t),v(t),a(t)x(t), v(t), a(t)x(t),v(t),a(t))

  • Newton’s Laws + free-body diagrams (the most common failure point)

  • Energy, momentum, and circular motion

  • (Optional) Intro E&M foundations (if relevant)

How grading works (our scale)

We grade your diagnostic using an outcomes-based scale plus a skill breakdown (so you know what to practice and why):

  • 0–49% — Foundation Gap: key prerequisites missing; rebuild core skills first

  • 50–69% — Developing: understands concepts, but errors and setup issues dominate

  • 70–84% — Proficient: strong base; needs strategy, speed, and harder applications

  • 85–100% — Advanced: ready for high-level problem solving and exam performance polish

After you upload your completed PDF (photos or scans are fine), you’ll receive a clear summary of your strengths, the top error patterns we see, and the fastest path forward—then we’ll go over it together in your free consult. Download our "Diagnostic Test" below!

2) Scoring + Placement (simple, fast, repeatable)

A. Score bands (per diagnostic)

  • 0–49% = Foundation gap (must rebuild prerequisites + core schemas)

  • 50–69% = Developing (can learn, but error-patterns dominate)

  • 70–84% = Proficient (needs speed, strategy, and transfer)

  • 85–100% = Advanced (hard-problem training + proof/intution polishing)

B. Subscores (this is the “proprietary” part)

3.) Misconception Taxonomy (v1) — Our “Error Database”

Most students don’t lose marks because they “don’t know the topic.” They lose marks because the same hidden error patterns keep showing up under pressure: a limit that collapses from one algebra step, a chain rule that gets skipped, an optimization problem that never gets modeled correctly, or a free-body diagram missing one force that breaks the entire solution.

That’s why we use our Misconception Taxonomy (v1) — a structured “error database” we’ve built specifically for Calculus and Physics. When you upload your diagnostic, we don’t just grade right vs. wrong. We tag why each mistake happened using clear codes (for example, C-A1: Modeling/Setup breakdown or P-N1: Free-Body Diagram missing forces). This lets us identify the root cause behind lost marks and fix it fast.
